In Conversation with Libby Sheridan & Cat the Vet

Discussing nutrition and GI issues

Purina Scientific Affairs Manager Libby Sheridan and Cat the Vet will delve into the intricacies of the gastrointestinal system. They will discuss the role of the microbiome and the gut-brain axis, GI health and how the latest research can and should impact on the recommendations given in a practice setting.

In this talk they will address why GI disturbances are common and how nutrition can sometimes be cause of gut upset, as well as restoration to a healthy state. The critical importance of the microbiome will be discussed, including how imbalances can have wide ranging effects including implications for stress states and anxiety.

The role of antibiotic therapy and its effects on the microbiome will also be put under the microscope, providing food for thought around how our routine protocols can have unintended consequences, and how nutritional support such as probiotics can help restore microbial gut balance.

Don’t miss this wide-ranging conversation which will help you to incorporate new thinking into your approach to GI health and disease.
