In this lecture, Domenico will cover an introduction on natural and artificial antimicrobial peptides. Specific details on structure and function of such peptides will be presented. Domenico will also dissect the relevance of natural antimicrobial peptides in disease states in dogs. Finally, a section will be allocated to discuss novel therapeutic options including natural and artificial peptides in veterinary medicine.
