How can you make a difference in the fight against Johne's disease?
New science and AI powered diagnostics can help you lead the way!
Johne’s is a chronic wasting disease of ruminants caused by Mycobacterium avium spp paratuberculosis (MAP), which greatly impacts on sustainability of the farming industry. Current tests fail at detecting early-stage Johne’s disease, allowing MAP to spread silently within herds.
MicroRNAs are powerful disease biomarkers that regulate biological processes. The new NEMO* technology analyses a microRNA panel with bespoke artificial intelligence (AI) to accurately identifies all MAP infections stages (I-IV) and predict likelihood of disease progression.
NEMO* allows farmers and clinicians to detect silent infections, understand resilience to disease, and act appropriately to protect the herd.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- Understand microRNAs and their use as disease biomarkers
- Learn about the power of AI and statistical modelling to diagnose Stage I Johne’s disease and predict disease progression
- Learn about the new NEMO* - Johne’s disease screening test and how it compares with current Johne’s testing methods
- Understand how early diagnosis of Johne’s disease (Stage I, pre-clinical, pre-shedding) is key for improving farming’s productive efficiency and achieve net zero by 2040
- Discover that the NEMO technology can potentially be applied to other veterinary diseases
