Daisy graduated from the Royal veterinary College in 2012. After a couple of years in mixed practice, Daisy pursued a career solely in anaesthesia and completed a 1-year anaesthesia specific internship at the University of Liverpool followed by a residency in anaesthesia back at the RVC, which she completed in 2019. 

Following on from her residency, Daisy headed the anaesthesia team at Fitzpatrick Referrals working at both the orthopaedic and neurology hospital and the soft tissue and oncology hospital. During her time at Fitzpatrick Referrals, she obtained her European specialist status in June 2021. She left the team there and started at Blaise referrals in November 2023, which is a relatively new referral hospital located in Birmingham, UK. Alongside her role at Blaise referrals, Daisy has become a Clinical Fellow in Veterinary Anaesthesia & Analgesia at Harper & Keele Veterinary School, in which she oversees the clinical teaching in anaesthesia for the vet students. 

Daisy has a particular interest in acute and chronic pain medicine, locoregional anaesthesia as well as the anaesthetic management of patients undergoing invasive vascular surgeries. She also thoroughly enjoys teaching and lecturing to both vets and nurses in a range of anaesthesia related topics.

Lauren qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2013 and soon developed a keen interest in anaesthesia and emergency and critical care. Following a few years in first opinion practice, Lauren moved to Queensland, Australia, to take on the role of nursing manager at a busy hospital in Brisbane, where her passion for anaesthesia was fully ignited, with an exciting and varied caseload from kangaroos to snakes! Upon returning to the UK, Lauren decided to pursue anaesthesia as a specialism and enrolled on the RCVS advanced veterinary nursing diploma. During this course, she studied all aspects of small animal anaesthesia, medicine, and surgery, graduating in September 2019.

Whilst undertaking her studies, Lauren worked as an anaesthesia nurse by day and for the emergency service by night, advancing her practical and theoretical skillset for the next challenge. In January 2019, she embarked on the enormous task of applying to be a veterinary technician specialist (VTS) in anaesthesia and analgesia. After an intense two-year credentialling process, followed by a lengthy examination, she passed and became a VTS in anaesthesia and analgesia in November 2021.

Lauren now works within the anaesthesia service at a referral hospital in the south of England, where she spends most of her time working closely alongside the anaesthetists to deliver gold standard anaesthetic care. Lauren works as a clinical instructor in anaesthesia, teaching and mentoring veterinary nurses and vet students both in-house and externally. Alongside her current role, she has a keen interest in emergency and critical care, completing the Ncert in emergency and critical care in 2024 and has a particular interest in locoregional anaesthetic techniques and advanced vascular access.
