Exotic small mammals, including Guinea Pigs, Hamsters and Ferrets, commonly present to the veterinary practice as emergency patients, and rapid assessment and treatment is required to give them the best possible chance of survival. This webinar, aimed at Vets and Veterinary Nurses, will outline how to approach the exotic small mammal emergency, covering topics such as triage, history taking, clinical exam and diagnostics. We will also discuss the main aspects of treatment including fluid therapy, medications, surgical considerations, CPR and humane euthanasia.
